idling problems
well on my way home from the track last week i hit a stop light and my car started shaking. sounded like it wanted to die but it would juss sit and iddle at 500 rpm instead of 1k. i would give it gas and it would stutter then revv up.. i had to get home so i kept going.. once in gear the car ran fine. didnt seem like i lost any power or anything. but at every stop it would hesitate and idle very low. got home parked it. 2 days later i started it.. started fine. ran fine all the way to work no problem.. then i started having problems again on the way back. same thing idles at 500. but it doesnt die..
i started the car back up again tonite and started fine. but once its warm it idles very low again.. what do you guys think the problem is?

RE: idling problems
One would think it would do it all the time if it was one of those things... It is a distributorless ignition, so number 3 is out.
maroman, on the Mustang I used to have, you could unplug the IAC and it would idle right at 500 instead of the 800-900 rpms it normally does. Possible that the IAC is faulted. You might check that out by unplugging it and seeing if anything changes.
