Well i have a 91 RS with a 3.1L and im thinking of selling it..I paid $1,800 for it which would have been a good deal if i didnt have to put$900 worth of brakes and a new water pump on it. I want to sell my car for about$2,300. I dont no if i should sell it or not, i really like it but i dont want to put tmore monwy into it than its worth. And im only 16 so i dont exactly have the cashflow to pay for all this stuff since i paid for the whole car, insurance and all the replacement parrts ive had to put on it........I dont no what to do

 

Sell her for $2500, save up another 500 on top of that and get you another 3rd gen with aV8, or a 4th genV8 that needs some TLC-if you run your insurance the way I do (on the parents account), quote yourself on one of your parents vehicles, and have one of your parents on the Maro (totally legal), you won't have too bad of a problem, mines only like $50 a month for liability--not terrible for a 17 year old .

 

I think i might save up for a fourth gen.....after i get a different job b/c right now i only work 1 day a week for 7.50 an hour...But im fittin to get a different job real soon

 

you can get a early 4th gen 3.8 car for around ~3000

 

Why the heck did you pay nine bills for a water pump and brakes? And I would not expect any private party to pay over 2 grand for a good condition 91 V6 Camaro. You can check the market value on cars.com

 

I had all new front and rear brakes including lines drums pads rotors and calipers + the waterpump was only like $40

I have a kelly blue book from 05 so its 2 years behind. I booked it again with the info you gave and checked it on cars.com and on the web its more than what it would have brought two years ago. It dont make sence but just stick with whats on the web

 

So if i have 3 grand i can get a 4th gen 3.8L?...wasnt 95 the first year for the 3.8? So that would be the year to get i guess

 

well maybe...i got a good deal, i found my 96 RS Y87 for $2700 (KBB ~$5000) w/ a bad fuel injector (cheap fix) and it runs perfect...you can def get a 3.4 for around 2-2.5Kish...maybe a older 3.8 for ~3K+...maybe (3.8's started in 96 [95 in cali])

 

But are there many performnce parts available for the 3.4?
