Default How much horsepower?

Hey guys i have a 1996 camaro RS (still has the bodykit!) with the3.8l and the 4l60e trans. It has all new gaskets, new radiator, new waterpump, new shocks, new battery (we basically rebuilt the entire motor, so its good as new)etc etc, performance parts include DEI heat wrapped pacesetter headers, a cold air intake with a k&n filter, MSD coils and wires, flowmaster dual exhaust, and the EGR has been removed and replaced with blockoff plates. I run a k&n oil filter and high grade synthetic oil and platinum spark plugs. I have been tryin to get a solid estimate on horsepower before i purchase a custom tuned PCM for it so i know how much i would be gaining. Im currently thinking i have somewhere between 280-305 horsepower, any other estimates?

CAI 3 HP
Dual Exhaust 5 HP
Headers 12 HP

My guess would be about 220 HP at the flywheel. Most of the above will not gain you any power. Things like coils and wires gain you nothing, You would need them IF you where at 300 HP but they themself do nothing for you.

FYI I have about the same mods to may 96 with 5 speed and she pocket Dynos just under 200 HP at the wheels. With your automatic your going to be a little less.

Yeag 300 out of a V6 takes a lot of work if you stay naturally aspirated and dont shoot it with nitrous. Its certainly achievable, but for the money youre going to need to spend, find a SS or a Z. Already closer to where you want to be, and with all the money youll get from selling the RS, you can make it hella fast

Gorn, were you taking into account he has a new battery though? lol
About 220 is what I was best-guessing too.

My 96 all stock hit 170.9 with 90k miles, now it has all the bolt ons and a cam, new PCM on the way. Most cars I've seen with the same mods are hitting 230 rwhp with an A4.

Swapping to something other than Flowmasters could gain another 5 or so HP.
Platinum plugs? Yuck.

I'd say 215ish at the wheels.

I doubt it, CAI, headers and catback usually only gets you up to 180-190 rwhp with or without a tune. Remeber this is a v6, takes a lot to get a little.

the 3800 puts out 200 at the crank but only like 175ish at the wheels, now bring in to account the age of the motor and your talking like 165 at the wheels stock. im thinking your at like 180RWHP.

also did you do the rings or re-seat the valves in your rebuild?
