Default Homemade cold air intake?

I have an '02 Camaro that is completely stock. I was looking around trying to find something to do to it and with only $150 I couldn't find much more than a new air filter. Then I found this: http://thirdgenmods.firebirdv6.com/coldair.html

I was wondering if anyone has tried making a homemade one and if it was worth it over just replacing the air filter with one of the K&H high flow ones. Also, if anyone else has any other upgrade suggestions to fit my very small budget please tell.

You can get a shiny ebay intake for basically the same price. Then it woun't look....odd....like that one. Look for chrome intakes on ebay, you can get one with a k&N filter.

Thanks, I found that chrome you mentioned. $120 seems well worth it for what you get.

You can shave the baffles off the lid, among some other things with the stock intake.
