i was drivin the other day got the car up to about 118 in 4th gear i figure its the govener but i was wonderin if i had shifted into 5th would i have gone over. im guessin not but i was jw

Two things you can do:
1) Get the PCM reprogrammed to delete the speed limiter.
2) Drive down a very long & steep hill. Like going down Pikes Peak in neutral.

Also, make sure your tires are rated for the speed you are looking for.

 

Yes...make sure your car is safe to drive that fast (as safe as it can be i guess)

and a tune can adjust your gov

So, why didnt you go into 5th. If you have, what happened?

 

You need a new prom for theECM with the limiter removed. Check this web site www.fastchip.com andsee if they have one for a V-6,

 

i didnt go into 5th cuz i had to slow down i was comming up to cars if i had the time i wouldve
