Mine is a 3.8 and I bought ceramic coated Pacesetters for mine, but have yet to install them. I'll also be curious to see what everyone else uses.

yeah i wanted to ask around looking for the best performance, i lost the cat no need for it. using flowmaster muffler. think im going to stay with 2.25 exhaust. i would like to get some hard numbers to on hp if i did change to 3 inch.. along with the headers.

i just finished installing Pacesetters on my 3.8 with the flat-black paint. The paint is already burning off (as expected) but I don't really care too much about that.

Overall my feelings are mixed about the headers - The fitment was OK, although the clearance between the header pipe and the steering joint is really tight (if this is a problem or not is TBD). The EGR hookup was really bad and my EGR tube broke trying to make it fit, a real pain since GM stopped making these EGR tubes and I had to retrofit one from the junkyard and using coldweld. The included fasteners were all grade 5 bolts which I think its totally inappropriate; I replaced them all with grade 8 hardware from Lowes which cost around $10 in all. The gaskets are a cardboard-appearing product which I had no intention of trusting so I got metal Napa gaskets instead.

I ended up replacing my headers, O2 sensors, cat, and s-pipe with the pacesetters, Denso O2 sensors, Magnaflow cat, and SLP s-pipe that reduced to 2.25" back to a OEM-style muffler. So far, I have to admit, I can't really tell much performance difference or improvement in sound - kind of dissappointed so far. In addition, I lost a very significant amount of ground clearance in multiple areas because of this install. YMMV.
