i thought i just had a burned out A/C compressor, but apparently when your A/C compressor burns out it sends little metal scraps through the entire a/c system so after spending about 250 on my compressor, and taking it into a repair shop i found out i need more than just an EVAC, and refill of freon, i need a couple new parts(forgot what though) and a chemical cleansing through the system which comes out to be about 150, on top of the 250 i spent on the compressor, and then, they say theres a good chance some of these metal scraps messed up my condenser which is 400 dollars parts and labor.

800 dollars for a working A/c system, that's a joke

and it's the start of summer, down here in florida

sorry bout ur luck dude my ac works great BUT my drivers side window wont go down, my t-tops are locked and the only key i have for them is broke of in the door........thanks to my localpolice deparment

 

If it makes you feel better, my mom's 98 C1500 Chevy was an easy $1000 to slap on a new compressor and clean things up.

 

Yeah that sucks man. I lived in FLA for a few years and it's hell without that a/c. Good luck on that one
