Gorn- I removed the pump to double check a few things since i realized my meter is crap. I found that the pump is only getting 1-2v compared to the 12v it should be getting, I'm really not sure what to do about it since there's a million possibilities from there... Computers are great like that.
Will that car start on carb cleaners? That would mean everything else is working just no fuel pressure.

Have a manual helps a lot with these types of issues. I would jump right to the fuel pump relay and see if the computer is turning it on (power to the relay) amd see if the relay is working. You could also straight wire the pump and see if it starts.

ok, this weekend i tried wiring the pump. the pump is functional.
However the fact that it gets 1.5v rather than 12 tells me the computer is shutting it down, since it would get 0v if there was a wiring issue or something.

I can hear the relay clicking when i turn the key. It was just replaced 2 days ago as well.

As a general rule electric fuel pumps do not "pull" very well they are designed to push. You will need the pump as close to the tank as possible. Your not thinking about trying to pull fuel thru a broken pump, are you?

Thanks,i did not knew that...ok,if i put it close to tank, can i just cut in wires to get power from existing pump,or need fresh power thru Riley?
Car recently started to idle to low, shuts down a few times with codes about 3 injector. So i got new spark plugs, wires, one coil, fuel filter, pcv, and that injector replaced.pump Little noisy last 2 years or so,but no problem on hi rpm or speed,so i was thinking just to get adition...after parts replacing no more codes,or shutting down, but low rough idle still here...
It has 115k
Another question:can i get msd coils for it?It said its not fit that year model on msd site, but looks like the same?
my car camaro 99 3.8
thanks

yeah my fuel pump was bad, piece of $*** ran me up a decent pile...
oh well. I found that the gm replacement actually makes my engine run better than the 255 lph pump did anyway. Maybe its because i have a completely stock fuel system?

Hi, I was tooling along on a nice rural street miles from my home on Saturday and my car literally started to die...pulled over and could restart but it would stall. Had to call the police b/c I don't have roadside assistance (I do now!) and had to have it towed to a mom and pop shop whom I am told is "fair". Anyway I'm told it's my fuel pump and that the part is about $675 and there's about 6.5 hours of labor, plus $155 for the tow...I'm looking at about $1,500 worth of work before tax. Is this "fair"? My Camaro is a '99 V6 stock. Thanks
