Front Dash
I have done some searches and came up empty. I have found a front or upper dash for my 97 . Mine sorta looks like a street map of LA so no hope in repairing it. The question I have is just how does it come out?
I have been told to just remove the post covers and it lifts right out?
I know from experiance with F Bodies it cant be that simple or easy.
Is there anything special / problem areas to look out for?
A Special tool needed?
A upper dash from a 95 will work right?
Thanks in advance.

97 was the year they redid the interiors. So 95 and 97 are different, BUT I have seen people put 97 dash in a 95....so I dont know if it can the way you want it. I say possibly but kinda "down grade"
You know I just remembered this parts place I had saved when I had my TA also had Camaro parts. The pictures they are showing for the 93 - 96 are totally differnt from the 97 - 02 .
So yeah Gmed you were dead on .
so can whomever has the power make this thread go away?
thanks!

if u google 97 camaro dash pad ull come up with some places. yes they pop out and are held mostly by velcro stuff. if u are replaceing the one on the car u wont have to worry about it cracking any and it will, most likely bust all to pieces.
I removed mine recently. It sucks. haha. It is actually held down by some pretty strong velcro and some clips closest to the dash. If you are VERY careful you do not need to remove the A pillars you just have to flex the plastic a bit. Just slowy pry the plate up with a long screw driver or something and take your time.
almost forgot, heat the new dash pad up in the house so its more flexable. maybe turn the heat up in the bathroom and set it in there long enuff to heat it good. dont get carried away with a torch or the like.
u could start the car and get it nice and hot in there to warm up the old one and so the new one wont cool off to fast when installing.

Thanks guys and yeah I have seen them and chances are will end up ordering a new one . The thing is the one I found here while being dirty it was solid and was only $50 not $200 plus.
But hey if it wont fit whats the point huh?
