Default Free Ram Air Mod

Okay so I was looking into doing the free ram air mod, to my Camaro. You cut out the baffles in your airbox. I was looking into getting a SLP CAI, but if I do the free ram air mod in the meantime till I can get the CAI. Will I still be able to install the CAI? I think you have to do the same thing to install the CAI anyway. Also does it make the car run hotter, I've heard some people say it makes their cars run a bit hotter. Any info would be great, Thanks.

debaffling the air lid is not the same as the free ram air. The free ram air cuts the bottom of the airbox tray out; this is needed anyway for the SLP CAI.

Look at the instructions HERE, you can do the cutting now and be ready for the SLP CAI:

Also, the baffles are for noise reduction, as is that big noise reduction claptrap after the lid which you also want to eliminate with a smooth air-path. See the Whisper Lid or SLP V8 Flow-Pac to see how they do it to model your approach after...

Do they still make the Whisper lid for the 3800? I know that Ricks doesn't sell them anymore because I thought they were discontinued. I can't find a cheap one to be had either.

Edit: Just found their phone number on the main page, the number still active. EPIC WOOT!
