Guess the switch has been an issue for previous owner because this was in the trunk. Dont you have to get your keys recoded/programmed? Is that expensive and who does it?

Those keys are just the pattern for the new key. What you need to do is use the new key for the tumbler pattern and the old key for the resistor pellet.

Maybe after I sleep on this, I will understand what you're talking about. lol I'm sure whoever fixes the switch will know what to do but I'm confused. Will this part work or do I need to go get something else?

that part is going to work just fine. But the keys that come with it do not have the resistor for the VATS system in them. You need your old resistor code and the new key pattern to make everything work.

Take new and old key to GM or a lock smith.
Old key has correct resistor value.
New key has correct tumbler pattern
Another new key will be made using the old resistor value and the new key's pattern.

Now you have a new vats key. It is basicly taking the 2 and making them into one.
