Flushing
An easy way is to pull off the botom radiator hose and let it ( go everywhere) drain into a bucket or pan. You can also open the petcock on your radiator. Or you can spend 39.95 and have it done @ Sears or someother place. Look for coupons in your Local Sunday paper.
Oh BTW. Seeing how this is your first time, do it in the dirt.. Your gonna make a f-in mess. Also, animals like the smell of antifreeze. So if you have any dogs or cats that run around, make sure that you dont leave any puddles or buckets laying around full of antifreeze, it will kill them.
Rob, the coolant sensors are located on the bottom of the engine block. Not sure exactly where on the 3.4, but on the 3.8 motor they have to be accessed from underneth the car. There's 2 of them, one on each side of the block. There will be an electrical wire going to it. That's the only sensor that goes in the block in that area, so as soon as you see it, you will recognise it.
Disconnect the electrical wire (plastic clip) without damaging it. It should be around 21mm socket/wrench. They are not that tight and should come off easy. Have a pan handy, there will be coolant coming out. After draining both sides, put the sensors back on. Do NOT overtighten. I think they are around 15 ft.lbs only.
With all that said, there may not even be a sensor on your motor.... It could simply be a plug. Same thing though. Someone with more knowledge of 3.4 will chime in. Good luck.
