a few MOD ?'s
i have a 98 3.8 and i want to go from the angled TB to a straight one. if i get a 99-02 TB will it bolt right up to the intake manifold or what cause its had to do a CAI in the angled one. also will a 160 degree thermostat be worth the trouble? and will a new EGR help out?
If you change the upper intake the throttle body you currently have will not fit. adding the TBW will be a pain and will require wiring under the dash and engine bay and a new PCM. New EGR will help if your old one is not functioning properly. and the 160° T-stat will cause your engine to stay in open loop and throw codes saying your engine cannot reach operating temp. You can have this tuned into your PCM, you may see about 5-10 HP but I doubt you will actually feel that.

It will bolt up to the lower intake just fine. what wont work is the throttle body itself. The mounting is completely different. The lower 2 bolts will work but the upper will not. Also the 99-02 intake does not have a provision for IAC since it does not need one.
