Alright so I had an aftermarket muffler put on from Jones, nothing special just has a lower howel, and breathes easier, - iam not big into putting expensive exhaust systems on unless its a v8 really - but now that its on it seems if i rev the motor it makes a slight pop at the end, is that the Rev Limiter kicking in or is it just the way the exhaust is or what... It doesnt bug me since i don't rev up often but i'm curious as to what causes it
thanks
Kyle

When you rev up, you get lots of air and fuel, take away the air (let of the throttle) and for a brief moment you have too much fuel to burn. Some gets burned in the cylinder, while some gets burned in the exhaust hot exhaust pipe.

Oooo i see, so pretty much that will happen to any car with a different exhaust system that is louder and whenyou rev it itwill be more noticeable than the stock, cause i just did the muffler and left all the pipes alone, kinda wishing i would have done more work, but for under a hunder bucks it was quick and i like the sound, if i did a different air intake would that mellow it out more cause right now i have the stock air intake and its fairly restrictive.. personally i'm not big into making this car anything more than a v6 so adding stuff to make it sound louder and more powerful isn't my goal cause put it next to a v8 and it dont look so pretty :P I also like to get good gas mileage :P so i have put a ton into making it run efficient as it could be and i'm proud of my 28 on the highway
but a CAI???? thoughts - comments yes no ??
