Check all the vac lines and rubber hose connections on your engine. You could have accidentially pulled a line or hose off it connection while working on the car.

Does that "out of nowhere" have anything to do with it being after the engine warms up nearing running temperature, or is it random?

when i removed the vacuum lines i didnt plug anything and i looked at the fuel pump again and the only rubber line there is i unplugged it and it relieved the air(hissing sound) in the tank and it runs fine until the pressure builds back up again.
