Engine Misfire-Coil Packs??
I have just recently changed the plug wires, About 9 or 10 months ago i replaced the spark plugs with Bosch Platinums, And over the past month or so, I have developed quite a miss in the engine,
So I purchased a new coil pack for it, Do you think this could be the major cause for the miss? Im sure that it has never been replaced, so we're talking about a 13 year old set of coils.
I am aware i should have purchased bosch platinum 2's now that i read z28petes article,
Has any one changed their coil packs on a 3.4 I am having difficulties with getting to the bolts (7/32) The throttle cable bracket gets in the way, Do i have to remove this? What tools would you reccomend? A swivel head ratchet with an extenstion? Im having a difficult time maneuvering around to unscrewing the 6 bolts that attach the coils to the bracket.
Which Plugs should I check (the reverse fire plugs) What are the numbers of the cylinders that fire in reverse order?

RE: Engine Misfire-Coil Packs??
You didn't say if you figured it out or not so I'm just gonna throw this in here for future reference if you need it.
Take a 7.5 mm socket and take the two bolts that hold the plastic round thing over the throttle wires. Then (with the engine off) turn the throttle wire holder thingys until you can wiggle the wires out. (I know you guys are astounded by my tech-speak right now but I really do know what I'm doing, I just don' know the technical terms)
With that stuff out of the way the coil packs should be a breeze.

RE: Engine Misfire-Coil Packs??
Taking off that would have made it easier, due to the problem of clearance of the bolts in the back coils. I used a special tool that was made for the a distributor off of an escort gt, which was about an inch long piece(7/32) attached to a ratchet, for the lastcoil i had to use a wrench attached toit. Thanks for the input crewgirl. I would recommend removing that for anyone interested in changing coil packs on the 3.4
One more thing, 95-99 Monte Carlos/Luminas coilpacks (off of a 3100) are exactly the same as the one found on a 3.4. Although everyone wants to charge about 15 bucks more for the Camaro coil packs, save yourself some cash and ask for Lumina Coilpacks.
