Default Drop dat ***!!!

Now that I got your attention I'm dropping the rear end "@ss" on my camaro to swap for posi and disk brakes. I will try to take pictures and maybe even a writeup for future reference. I will also swap my driveshaft 2 piece to 1 piece. Any pointers from people with experience? I already have everything besides the struts and a couple little things off.

should be a breeze. hardest part is rusty bolts so blast them up.

Also jack that thing up real high. Learnt that the hard way. Make sure you have brake fluid and the right brake lines.

So I have everything pretty much bolted up. Some of it was pain because of rust but sandpaper took care of that. Also my spring compressor broke after the first spring POS NAPA tools. Only real problem I have is that the bar idk what its called looks different for a v8 rear. I cant get it to fit the new dif but it fit the old one fine. Maybe it just got bent idk. Anybody have any input ive included a pic.

your torque bar looks different from mine. dont know if the dimensions are different. does look like the front of the rearend needs to come down. gona have to mussel it around and see if it will line up.

For next time, if there is one....if you disconnect your shocks, you can drop the rear further to where you probably won't need a spring compressor.
If you disconnect your lateral bars, there's no question you won't need the compressor. Get the rear swung down far enough, and the springs literally fall out.

Yea but I still need a compressor for the front because I'm installing lowering springs all around. Anybody know if ls1 camaro have the same torque arm as a 95 lt1?

you should've dropped the fuel tank and cut a hole back there for access, would've saved yourself some time should you want to go to a different fuel pump in the future

^ Way to jinx it, now the fuel pump is gonna go out on him next week!
Oh, and for your torque arm, try putting a weight load back on the rearend first.
When the rearend pivots back up, the angle where the bar and mounting point meets is going to change.

looks like the arm is the same from 89 to 02 except the two piece driveshaft setup.
