Default driveshaft

i have a 95 camaro with a 3.4 liter motor it makes a big clunk when its goes into a forward or reverse gear the same clunk like it had bad u-joints. It originally had the two piece driveshaft but I'm guessing the original owner had a one piece put in. The torque arm is hanging doing nothing, could that be the reason for the clunk because i changed both u-joints. I thougt that the torque arm was there to prevent the differential from twisting

Yeah, it is. The torque arm was either left disconnected, or it tore free from the mount. The rearend will be twisting around like a pretzel with it disconnected, and you could break something, including your brand new u-joints.

Default so then my question

what am i supposed to do if this car does not have the 2 piece shaft anymore. I've seen the reciept from the original owner it said drive shaft retubing. So should i get another drive shaft that has a center bearing so i can connect it to the torque arm or is there another way. I know people have been replacing the two piece for a 1 piece and i'm wondering what they have done thank you for your help

Drive shaft does not connect to the Torque arm/ It should be connected to the trans tail housing.

Edit: The lighting suck but this motor still has part of the Torque are mount still on it. See the reds.

wreckless, where are you located? I have a full length stock torque arm laying around in my garage, keeping the rest of my crap company. You can have it.
So, you're arm doesn't go all the way to the tail of the trans then?

he may not have the mount on the transmission either so may need to change the tail shaft housing and find the mount and bracket.
