Default Driveline

Good morning everybody, I dug around some older threads looking for info on a current issue Im having, didnt find any ideas there so here goes. Installed one peice alum driveline in the 97 3.8 Camaro and now I find that the trans/diff torque rod fits so close as to make any clearance between it and the u-joints, marginal. Didnt find any corroberating evidence that a torque rod delete was advisable, so Im curious if anyone has ideas or experiance in a satisfactory resolution to ihis issue, thanks for your help...

Thanks Craby, I get a pic right away and post it. We also want to put the Spohn driveline safety loop on this Camaro and a precursory inspect seems that the facroty torque arm will prevent that installation, is the Spohn performance option the way to go here?

To your other question, you can not go without a torque arm. The arm is what keeps the rear axle from wrapping around like a pretzel.

Thanks for the info, I was convinced the torque arm was essential, but now am concerned about clearance, the safety loop shown by Craby looks good and I will check into that. Anyway here are a couple of pics of the driveline and torque arm, I dont seem to fit under there as easily as I used to so excuse the high quality, thanks for the help, Ido appreciate it.

the aluminum shaft sticks out there a ways huh. it is close but should be ok, so long as its not rubbing. is that the torque bar from a one piece driveshaft car.

No its not Craby, this is the original arm from the two piece driveline, maybe after markey would be advisable here. what do u think?

Is there a physical difference between the V6 and V8 torque arm? Other than taking the load off the trans tail, I'm also curious what performance gains anybody has realized with an aftermarket arm, especially on a V6 car?

they are different in the 93, dont know what the difference is though. i show a torque bar for a lt1 auto, one for lt1 manual trans, and one for the v6.
