Default Driveline

Curious if anybody has replaced the stock two piece steel driveline with the single alum?

I assume you mean the driveshaft? 3rd and 4th gen driveshafts will interchange (700R4, 4L60, 4L60E applications).
Btw, the "driveline" consists of the drive components behind the transmission; the driveshaft and rearend. Or were you also asking about the rearend?

Yup, I was referring to the driveshaft, looks like the stock unit has got to go. When installing the new driveline, is the use of a center brace advisable?

I'm getting the rearend whine and backlash noise. a couple of questions:
-I was thinking about replacing my ujoints while I save up for a rear rebuild, so aren't there (on a two-piece) three ujoints and a guide bearing?
-What's a rear rebuild (or 9") worth?

The two-piece driveshaft needs the support of the center brace, otherwise it will flop around and tear out. A one-piece driveshaft does away with the center support.

Great, already been looking around, found a general price range of $120 seems about right. Given a little thought its clear there are lots of advantages to this set-up and Im looking forward to using it. Thanks for all your help guys I appreciate it
