That's what a cold air intake is, unless your talking a ram air setup. What year is your car? Z28 or V6?

Yeah, that won't fit your v6. You shouldn't need an intake, those years had a good intake:

one thing you may want to consider is sanding the baffles off the stock intake basically just sand the inside of the intake nice and smooth and that will give the affect of a cold air intake....

If i was considering the k & n filter, is it reusable or would i have to buy another one when it gets dirty like the stock? But then again like you said you can clean it real good.

you clean and oil them. the filter, if taken care of, will last the life of the car.
