Clean the injectors with the Lucas product like quarterly per year, and same for the throttle body with spray (like CRC brand) they sell at auto parts stores...

Default RE: Cylinder 5 Misfire - Need Help Please

It seems that replacing the MAF helped solved the misfire problem. My brother-in-law drove it around all weekend with no prblem. Then I decide to test drive it. I guess my brother-in-law didn't get into it too much, because once I started pushing it, it started to misfire again. This time the code was for a misfire on cylinder 6. I erased the code, and after the car sat a while, we drove it again. Drove all day Sunday with no problem. We (my son & I) noticed it would misfire fron time to time, but not to the point it would trigger a check engine light. So I drive it into work today, and what I noticed it that it pulls fine as long as throttle position is 1/2 or less. Once you go 3/4 throttle or WOT, it starts missing again. I still need to clean the throttle body. I have started using injector cleaner in the gas tank, hopefully that will help.

Any ideas?

Thanks again!

Make sure 5 and 6 plugwires are not burning or shorting on the exh manifolds.
Get the codes again after clearing old ones.
PCV valve; dont loose the O-ring!
Had the same scenario after an engine swap; codes after a new MAF turned up #2 O2 sensor, that finally fixed...
