Default Custom Air intake box

Has anybody built their own air intake box using aluminum tubing? Seen one on a 97 camaro he ran from under the car to intake for the coolest air. I know he got aluminum tubing from home depot. Not sure how he bent aluminum and kept it in place? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

jus buy like one of those APC universal fits that come with the flexing plastic tube, and hang it or something.

That's a nice setup... Did you notice a big difference afterwards?
Where did you get your tubing?

depends.... if the bugs in your area are heavy drinkers the ethanol will give u an octane boost when you suck them into your engine [8D]

I have only ever seen strip-only carb cars run without a filter. I would never run my car without one. I cleaned my filter out and reoiled it a couple weeks ago and had to wash so much crap out of there.... crap that would have been in my engine

I am working on the other side. I would have to cut a hole in the plastic wheel well flap thats under the battery. Just havent got around to doing it.

As for the tubing, its something I got from my cousins, uncles, brothers kid. He works for NASA. Its a space aged carbonite polyomer stainless britainium reinforced tubing. Others call it flex piping. You can get it @ HomoDepo for about $6-9 bucks. I went with 3". As for power increase, I did notice that special tubing gave me an extra warp speed like burst. It now has about 79 kiliousand H.P.Screw VTAK this stuff is outa this world..
Sorry, I got stuck with jury duty today. I think I have offically lost it. As for power increase, ya it was noticable. It cost me all of under $35. to make.

what i did with mine was just bought a K&N filter, and jus put a 3inch PVC elbow on it, so it was right behind light, same as stock, but less restrictive, and i did feel a power gain.

yellow. yellow would be a awesome filter colour that would stand out

specter, i thought draggers mite, but to me it dont make sense, specially on a FI engine, a filter isnt(it is fairly restrictive) but not enough to put a engine in danger that much, specially if it's on under side of car, the littlest piece of dirt would ruin ur engine.

the flys around here only live one hour due do intoxification.
