Default crankshaft position sensor code

I have a 99 3.8 Camaro that's throwing a "camshaft position sensor circuit, range or performance problem" Code. I replaced the Sensor and the problem didn't change. There doesn't seem to be any symptoms other than a slight stutter very seldom. I've erased the code and it will come right back within seconds. could this be caused by bad timing, camshaft problems, or is this more likely an electrical problem?

Default

The engine will run with a bad cam sensor, but the injectors will be fired in batch mode rather than sequentially. Timing or the camshaft has nothing to do with this problem, so look for a bad sensor or a wiring problem.
