Found a pretty spiffy background for the gauges - and in my color preferences, no less (black, blue and white) - but the speedo registers 150 on it. Mine currently registers 125.

Any idea what I need to have done to make the speedometer accurate with the new layout?

 

Sounds like a Z28 cluster. What does the oil pressure gauge read? If it reads 60 in the middle it is a 6cyl cluster if it reads 40 in the middle then it is a Z28. Check out Black Cat Customs, they have good quality cluster faces, they can do custom work (I had them make a custom face for my Avalanche). They offer many colors and a couple different styles.

Now about the problem you face... A dyno shop should be able to recal your cluster to read 150 if your car is 97+ Not sure on the process for the older cluster.
