When the timing cover leaks it won't affect your oil necessarily which is a good thing. The inside gasket is still holding, but it's leaking outside. Once you have the water pump off, it's another 8 10mm bolts you have to take out of the timing cover. Take the bolts out from the crankshaft pulley. (An impact gun makes like alot easier, and I mean alot!) You'll then need a pulley puller to remove the crankshaft pulley.You'll need a prybar to loosen the timing cover. Start at the top. Once the timing cover is off, remove all the old gasket and clean up the inside of the timing cover well. I used the black gasket maker and went around the whole seal. When you have it all together, leave it overnight before putting coolant back in the engine and let it set properly.
