console lid

the lid on my 96 has the hinges broke off, do I need a new lid or can I replace the just the hinges? anyone know a cost effective way.......SFC

You'll need a new lid. I just installed a new one in mine this week. You can find them new on-line for about $130-180. If you're persistent, you'll find some new ones show up on ebay for less. I picked mine up for $110.

You can also just wait for an entire center console to show up used on ebay and maybe get lucky that it's lid isn't broke. But, that's gonna be tough. The pin is still available from GM, if you're needing that too.

There's a 94 in the local U-Pull-It with a good console. I ws going to pull it but ran out of time (and money). I'll see if it's still there later this coming week. Can't do it this weekend...

Damn, I wish my 94 had that snazzy red and grey interior! Better than a cup of coffee in the morning, I'll bet.
