Default cold air intake sucking hot air?

i have a 99 v6 camaro w/ K&N cold air intake, but after reading some simaler posts i realize that its prolly in one of the worse positions for a cold air intake... is there a way i could move it? or would i just have to buy a hole new intake system

show us where u mounted it. I'd still say it has to be an improvement over factory though.

THe K&N isnt horrible i just dont like it, becuase every other cold air intake I have ever installed on a vehicle the air intake is redirected to where there is a open mouth inlet for outside air to come into. And your getting a alright gain according to the factory. Now I cant find the page but he just made some custom piping and had the intake wrap around the hood till it came to a open spot on the other side of the air box. or you can do what the slp intake does, since its already a flat filter it works out sincethe slp intake goes underneith the original airbox and puts its intake infront of the radiator but you would have to find some way to re-angle your intake. Sorry to go off, but in short there is nothing wrong with the K&N cold ait intake I just dont like it and think there is a better choice, but that is my choice, thats why there are variety of company's that do it the way they want.

Put the stock unit back on! Put A new K&N filter in it. Sucking in hot air. Just imagine if you had to suck in and exhale hot air all day. That's why turbos have an intercooler....because in reality. NOBODY, INCLUDING CARS, TRAINS, TRUCKS, SPACESHIPS AND CAMAROS ALL use HOT air induction. Because nobody likes hot air, except for Baloons, and steam engines. Seriously. GM has huge board meetings on how to get the coldest air to the engine. So, thinking a $200 kit is gonna make your car brutally fast is...I am truly sorry. Bull. BS, ETC.
