do you guys here think this would be a good deal off of ebay. seems kinda cheap to me

If you're going to get one of those, then I'd get the one that replaces all the intake tubing. Even with just what you asked about, you'd still have a restrictive intake. I used to have the eBay cold air kit for my '02 Mustang, and it was the same thing as a BBK one (just without the name brand and C.A.R.B. #).

 

I got the exact same intake off ebay for my 94 3.4L. It only comes with a short tube and a filter(mine was K&N), an i paid about 38 bucks for it(including shipping). Its an easy install, but you'll find that the tube will not extend fully into the slot where the stock filter housing is. But, it does add a bit of a deeper sound when in idle. A little trick if you do get it, try and surround the new filter in a way that will force all of the cold air into the filter. I did this by leaving the front half of the original filter housing in place, and then installing the new system which for the most part forced all of the air into and thru the filter.

These are full "cold air" intakes that are cheap.

 

would it be hard to put one in.. i heard it wouldhave to have the intakecome out of the bottom, instead of the top since its so crouded up in the front

 

Wouldn't be hard. Remove the AIT sensor, remove all the intake tubing. Install new intake, install AIT sensor. Would take 20-30 minutes max.

thats the same company that makes my intake for 97 3.8 works great looks good just make sure to follow the instuctions closely. basically have the intake itself preasembled but the clamps sliglty loose. completely remove all the air boxes right up to the throttle body slip the intake in and the grommit over the throttle body the twist the tubeing (thats why you left the clamps loose) so that the filter points down tword the wheel well. then tighten it all up and youll be all good under the hood.
