coil pack problem

hey all,

My names Josh. i have a 2002 LS. it was spitting n sputtering i replaced the coil and it ran great for about 2 days and now its back to the way it was.. what could be causing the coil to go bad?

Which coil is it that keeps giving you the problem. Also are they stock LS1 coils, truck coils, aftermarket?

the coil that goes to plug 2 and 5. its a 3.8L v6 first coil was stock the one i just put in was aftermarket. i had a new cat put in and i noticed it was really hot n making a boiling noise any link?

Stay away from aftermarket coils to start with. They are all junk GM did a great job with the oem coils. How many miles and what year.

i drove it home from work about 8 miles and the pipe and cat were red hot

Have you tried replacing that coil with a GM coil. Not beating a dead horse to death but grab a oem one and see if that fixes your issue. It might just do that.
