Default clutch problem

second gear started to grind the other day and my car didn't even try to start. i turned the key and nothing happened.it has only did this a few times. i knew it was the clutch. i checked the fluid to find that it was basically empty. i put fluid in this morning and bled the clutch. the starting problem is gone, but it still grinds when going to second, only when i'm really getting on the throttle. i know it's not my driving because it didn't start doing this until recently. could it just be time for a new clutch system?

IMO the clutch is not releasing fully, may still have air in the system.

i took it to a garage yesterday and let them bleed it. the guy said there was no air and itMAY need a new master cylinder. although i've learned alot about vehicles since getting my car, i'm still completely on the noob side. i just find it funny how it works perfectly except when i'm shifting quickly to 2nd. a friend of mine told me it could be that it needs gear oil or something. i've never heard of that.

If the clutch is releasing fully, then you probably have a bad 2nd gear synchro. Try double clutching, if you know how, and if it goes into second smoothly, then it more or less points to the synchro being bad.

yea, it goes perfectly while double clutching. but there's still something with the clutch, it didn't want to start today, and it did many different times throughout the day. it's like turning the key and the battery's dead, it does nothing. that has to be the clutch.

There is a switch on the clutch pedal that prevents the car from starting if the clutch is engaged. May want to try adjusting it.

i didn't see a switch, but i had my car towed in today and fixed. it wouldn't start at all, i forgot what was wrong with it, but i'll find out when i go to get the bill for the labor tomorrow. something simple though. as for the clutch, it's holdin up, and i'm not running the car hard until it's fixed.
