its a 98 3.8L camaro with 87,000 miles.

with regular acceleration and cruising everything is fine, but when its flored the engine willgo and then hesitate for a sec the go fine again and then hesitate again and will keep doing this but its only under hard acceleration at WOT. any clue what it is? i was thinking maybe the injectors so i was gunna go but a bottle of Seafoam to put in with a full tank of gas and maybe that will clean the injectors. any thought on if im guessing right? the check engine light is on but thats because i need to replace the 02 sensor on bank 2, i dont think that would have to do with the problem right?? any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

you should fix the check engine light then see if it still does it.

 

i will but i have already had that code checked and all it was is the 02 sensor on bank 2 is bad, but i dont think that would make it hesitate like that. i think it may be the injectors or maybe bad wires?

 

The O2 sensor feeds the PCM which in short feeds your injectors. If the O2 sensor is bad, it will cause hesitation, especially at WOT. Fix the problem, and see if that fixes it.

yes get that replaced.. i had the same problem .. had the hesitation and it was the o2 sensor.. also had to end up replacing the egr valve..

 

ok im looking online at replacement o2 sensors and im confsed as to what i need. there are 1 wire, 2 wire,3 wire and 4 wire o2 sensors, which one do i need????

 

can anyone link me to the exact one i need?

 

4 wire I believe.
