New amps these days are a little more efficient. Some cheaper ones I've seen get hot to the touch. As long as he's not bumping to the max all day long, it should get warm, but not so hot to where his butt catches fire.

Example: My boss did a complete Alpine set up on a Honda goldwing bike. Guy had a 500w RMS Alpine mono amp, and a 300 Alpine 4 channel in the back cargo compartment. Now that space is roughly the size of a backpack and completely sealed off from outside. He was pushing two Alpine type s 10"s in his saddle bag compartments, pretty awesome set up. And he did competitions at the local car show which is held in the Phoenix Stadium like every Thursday.

He never came to us with an overheating issue, and he bumps all day long. So I think it very's on the amp and the user.

I'm just going to put an 8" sub in but I was going to put it in the same place you have your sub at. Doing to wood work for the sub box in that area is easy for me but I'm having problems finding the carpet. My carpet is the same as yours. What did you do for the carpet? Who did you get it from?

I wonder if you can find a bose 8" sub box and put it in there. Bolts right into the driver side of the trunk.

I'm not going to buy a sub box. I'm going to build one. I'm going to take pictures of each step and I hope to upload them to this forum.

Thanks, I'm going to look into this. I stopped by my local stereo shop and the subwoofer carpet was not good ( I want to use profanity here but I don't want to offend any one on this forum).
