Camaro 3800 '99 Cooling temp
Hi to all.
I want to know the normal operating cooling temperature of a Camaro '99 3800.
The '98 gauge is different because it has
160f - 210f(half of gauge) - 260f
The gauge of '99,'00,'01,'02 is:
100f - 210f(half of gauge) - 260f
My '99 runs a little bit under 210f(half of gauge), in traffic or in start and stop condition it stay on 210f(perfect half of gauge).
It have the oem termostat Delco 195f.
When the fans starts at the first speed it provides to remain the cooling temp to 210f.
it goes under 210f only if i can run and the radiator have air from under and came to 190f approximately.
So in normal condition and in traffic it stay on 200f-210f.
it is correct?
thanks guys!

Sounds normal to me. A lot of people think because their car is running in the 210F range, it's running hot, because they associate it to the boiling point of water (212F), but a 50/50 mix of water/coolant gives a boiling point of 265F (assuming 15psi of pressure in the cooling system). If the car started getting into the 230F and up range...then I'd worry. But 210F isn't going to hurt a thing.
