with a exhaust maybe 7 to 12 hp, but cai alone is good for 1 or 2 hp. not worth the 100 or more bucks when a simple filter w/o the silencer does just as good.

Nah theres diffrent dyno sheets out there that prove that just a cheap one vs a better brand one the name brand puts out more hp and chambered intakes is where its at the one ive got is a 4inch in diameter works really well and is for sale for cheap im just throwing it out there that some are better than others but most are over rated and over priced.

Your not going to find a magic intake that will just add a bunch of HP. Lets pretend your engine puts out no heat. You remove the air cleaner. Now let say your engine has 200 HP with no hot air and no filter. So 200 HP is the base line. You add the factory air cleaner which pulls in some warm air from the motor and the motor has to work some to put the air thur the filter so now you have 195 HP. The abolute best the CAI can do is get you back to the 200. Of course these are just guesses but a ebay CAI may get you 2.5 HP back and Ebay CAI with K&N filter on might get you 3HP the complete K&N system might get 3.5. I doubt any system will get you back all 5 HP back and forget about more then 5 HP. It simple not possible to make a filtering system work better then no filter. So the better your factory intake is the less you gain by going after market. Our factory intake are not that bad.

I have seen system that claim they can speed up the air flow and that can work like a stack on a old school carb but with all these motors the air has to turn a corner after it enters the intake. This would eliminate and Venturi effect that may have worked.

So what part is not true. Are you saying a engine with a filter can have more HP then a engine without out a filter? That the filter some how forced more air in the motor. Or are you say the AEM has figure out how to speed air up and make it stay fast reguardless of the intake design? You realize that intake you posted is just a tube right? It may flow 2 or 3% better then some other tube of the same size but I doubt you it show up on a dyno. Here is what you get for $30 off feabay

YOur intake does not seem long enough to get all the way out of the engine compartment like the Ebay one does.

What im saying is some intakes are better than others and not all are the same in hp rating mine is a what you would call short ram but ive owned a V2 chambered intake woked really well and sounded good aswell.

I never said your intake would not work I said it does not look like the intake leaves the engine compartment. Are you saying there is a CAI that will add 17 HP to a v6 Camaro? Like I said the only way a CAI could add 17 HP to anything is if the stock intake sucked really bad. You say the basic facts I posted are "Not all true" I would like to know whats not true. I have no idea what a "rsx type s" is but I am pretty good with GM stuff.
