Default Buying a 96 V6 Camaro

couple days i had to lose my eclipse due to problems under the hood. came unprogrammed and tranny went out. after taking what i wanted, cd player, clock and other various stuff.

today after spotting out a few car lots i went down to this one that i know that had few camaros ( found 2 )

93 v6 auto ( messy inside along with minor body damage, $1100. )

96 v6 auto t-tops ( minor damage,cracked windshield,bullet hole on the corner of the windshield, $1100. )

the dealer said both camaros been treated like **** but he is selling so cheap due to going out of business.

im leaning more towards the 96 due to the 93 has door problems and lot of the interior has been jacked.

but mon/tues i will test drive to see if any are worth the time.

I suggest you do some more looking before considering on purchasing one of those.

I would hold off on them also, Unless you can do alot of Mech work. I got my 96 camaro for 2500 and it had 100000 miles on it and ran great and still does, for about a grand more you could find a really great driver....SFC

well after futher inspecting them they are completely worthless peices of ****!

96, flat front tire, driver side going down. i tried to start it nope battery is dead. so after the guy charged the battery i started it up and she backfired on me and then i started to revv it up and i noticed the dealer backed up a little so i shut down and looked under the hood bam pulleys rusted, belts are just awful looking and oil leaking. and not to mention the t-tops was jammed.

93, actually started but the oil light never did turn off so im revving it up to see whats gonna happen, i putted er in drive and moved my guess is 5/6 inches and stopped and wouldnt start to more. i didnt bother to ask about what kind of work they had done to it.

so i asked the dealer if he had anything else more of the price range of 1500 he shows me this dodge dakota v6, 5 speed. the rear wheel is flat so i told him im going to look at a few more places before making a buy.

when i was walking to the car i noticed more than half of the cars have flats. im staying away from there. i guess its time to hit up the paper and looked for a clunker.

and the way gas is rising i may have to sell my z28, 3.90 something. i think they stations are putting more water in than ever now. 30$ worth will get my moms alero close to half a tank but driving a few miles the hand starts to fall.

well after scouting out some more lots i found couple quite nice but overpriced cars.

last gen of the dodge stealth - 5/7 thousand

3rd gen eclipse - 3 thousand

late 90 model mustang - 4 thousand

so i went on to another one and bought a 94 3.8 5 speed mustang. 2400. paid 1500 on er. what through me off was 1 the engine 2 the sound.

1. i never thought mustang made 3.8's.

2. i found dual exhaust underneath.

well after i brought er home i went over to a junkyard to find a 16 incher ( 3 aftermarket 16's 1 stock 15 ) and i noticed the god awful weed whacking noise from the motor. after looking on the net its the connecting rod? eaither be replaced or blow the engine.

pretty ****ing ****ty! well after thinking about what to do. im going to call the lot up and tell them whats going on and ask them to reduce the price or refund or a better motor. if not well im having fun in the next days.

if they reduce the price i can get a 3.8 or 3.4 next to nothing.

i got my 95 3.4 for $3650 though the starter was bad wish i never wrecked it. but around here dude **** is way way overpriced. you cant find a half decent truck for under 5 grand.

ive been to a few lots where the prices was affordable but god oh mighty the cars are in such horrible shape.

only reason why i got my 3.4 semi cheap because they are 4 cars alot side by side. although i did a see v8 stang for $3850 when i bought my maro. my sister tells me up in lexington that cars are cheap and driveable but thats 2/3 hours away from me and gas is just pennys shy of 4$ a gallon.

look out of area then

i found a real steal, camaro 1995 3.4 77k for only $1200, and actually $1150 with a full tank in it.

Albeit, the 3.8 is the better v6, but just try harder, and don't conform to a mustang so quickly
