Default Burning Oil

I just got an oil change about 800 miles ago and ever since i got the oil changed i've been smelling burnt oil, After i shut the car off if i open the oil cap i can see smoke inside of it. What do i need to do to fix this? They used Mobil1 5w-30.

Make sure the PCV valve is working properly. Check the oil level & make sure it is not above the high mark when hot. If you find that you are really burning oil and there are no leaks, you will probably need to overhaul the engine.

Clean the oil off where it spilled onto the motor.

Well 20w-50 is thicker, the reason it is racing oil is because it resists the effects of dilution due to high octane racing fuels and the larger piston ring gaps too. It actually puts more "drag" on the crankshaft. You lose a little bit of gas milage and acceleration. You can get 20w-50 Valvoline Racing Oil locally. I personally don't like Valvoline cuz it airates very easily. Royal Purple is a great oil for racing. In my S10 I use 0w-20 Mobil 1 with a K&N oil filter because I get much better oil flow and higher pressure. In the Camaro, I put in 20w-50 because it's going to be a 12.5:1 compression ratio using 104 Octane gas.

Choose your oil according to milage and the weather. The multi viscosity oils change thier flow according to temps. If you live in an area where it freezes then 5 weight. If not then you can go higher. 5W-30, They oil flows at a 5 weight cold and no more than a 30 when hot. The "W" stands for winter.
I have never heard of anyone using a multi garde for racing. They usualy want the thinnest they can possibly use for less resitance and a single grade for a constant flow rate.
And 20W-50 is not a race oil. You can buy it at any autoparts store in any manufacture unless the store wont stock it because of freezing temps in the regon.
