best tune up?
my car is gettin to the point of a tune up, is it best to do it myself. or go to a shop and tell them to do it. if i take it to a shop are there diffrent kinds of tunes. if so what is best.
a "tune" and a "tune up" are different things.
tune ups dont require computer changes. depending on how old ur car is, you will want to do things like replace sparkplugs (and regap them) replace ignition wires, change out fluids (motor oil, tranny fluid, differential fluid), replace the fuel filter.... um..... I cant think of much more that I would really do...

Do it yourself. It will take about 3-4 hours to do, depending on how fast you are, and what all you do.
Generally a tune up consist of the following:
Spark Plugs
Spark Plug Wires
Maybe a new distributer
New Engine Oil and Filter
Flush out the radiator fluid and put new 50/50 mixture radiator fluid in
Drain and change out the tranny fluid
Drain and change out the rear end fluid
New in line fuel filter
Cap off the break fluid
Cap off the powersteering fluid
