Default best intake option?

I have a 2000 3.8 v6 auto with stock everything except for wheels. I'm looking into buying an intake, and I'm curious to know which would be the best fit for my car. I have looked around at some but I want to know from people that have certain brands on their cars, or have seen others.

I have a SLP intake and their Blackwing filter in my 02. I liked it because it uses the stock airbox and has a large intake vent that is placed low, and upfront. The intake was $120 and can use the stock filter if you wish, but I went ahead and bought SLP's filter for $45. Overall I am very pleased with it so far.

thanks, I'm willing to drop more than 165 on an intake though. I know what you get is what you pay for. If that's one of the better intakes then sweet, but if there is better for a bit more money let me know.

I also have the SLP cold air intake, i think it works pretty good. And its a lot cheaper than K&N.

would an SLP intake be a good choice for a 3.4 as well?

I would prefer the K&N FIPK2. If you factor in a SLP/Whisper CAI and a Whisper lid, they are almost the same price.

I have the SLP for my 96, you can not go wrong with the SLP or the K&N, both good products.......SFC

you really cant get much power out of just the air intake upgrade can you? you would have to go headers and exhaust to get the most out of it, right?

You won't net to much with any of those.
