Default best exhaust system

Hi all,
I am buying a red 99' Camaro 5spd. with all options, 104k miles for $5500. I want to get the best, loudest exhaust I can get. I love that good engine sound as long as it's throaty and not just pure engine noise. I currently drive a 93' Eagle Talon with a fart can, that I am kinda sick of, as I out grew that immature phase. I want something that will bolt up to my stock headers but will be able to work with aftermarket headers as well. My best friend has an 01' WS6 T/A with full Borla exhaust thats sounds, looks, and performs great. But how are they for the 3800? I know when I buy the car I will still be envious of his WS6, but I just don't have the cash flow for one. Also any info you guys can provide me as to any quirks or 3800 specific problems I should check for before the deal is finalized. Thanks in advance!

Ya i just sold my 92 Talon, but i never put a fart can on it, to annoying. Borla is probably the best you can get for the V6. It will probably run you about $700-800. Me in just going to get a Magnaflow cat-back. You wont get the same sound as the z28 at high rpms. At idle though they sound just as good!

Mine is going to be my everyday driver but I want something that can burn annoying ricers and put a few horses to the ground. I was looking at Z28's but for the same price you get double the mileage and another 5 years on the car and I don't feel like a rebuild soon.. I just hope everything goes well with this deal and I can drive away happy. Going to try and sell my Talon for like a grand. It runs great but could use some love with an engine rebuild and a paint job.
I live in Mustang land so it will be interesting to see the reaction I get with a Camaro. Everyone and their grrandmother drives a 'stang so I want a little extra power to help with them. They are mostly v6's and a few GT's.

as for catbacks go, on the v6's the flowmasters suck. dont waist your time..... YES i have one and its quiet and at wide open it rasps like a ricer.... but i have magnaflow on my z28 and its a low rumble at idle, but when it revs it kinda breaks up (in a good way) and sounds mean......... but thats on a z.

That's a good bet considering that the 3.8 camaro can beat a 96-98 mustang GT with a good intake and exhaust.

Is that a fact? I've never raced one... Might have to give it a try... If I get smoked man, I'm blaming you, lol.

TheGT had only 225 HP. It did have a good 290 TQ though. I'd say that with good gearing, exhaust, headers, and intake a 3.8 would hold a close race, possibly winning.

its a drivers race, but the mustang has a slight advantage. It is more than possible for the 3.8 to beat one, but you have to be the better driver.
