battery drains when power terminal is hooked up to it? WATS WRONG
hey everyone,
im shane, a 17 year old high school student. Im lookin to buy a sports car, and have found a 95 camaro v6, 3.4. its in great shape, 96,000 miles, the engine is really clean. when i went to look at it, the owner had the power disconnected from the battery. he put it on, and the car started right up. we came back later, and he had taken it off again and had to put it back on to start it. He told me that he had just put a new alternator on it. WHY DID HE TAKE OFF THE POWER TERMINAL. i'm thinking that the car somehow drains the battery with it connected..... any commets, suggestions, input would be greatly appreciated

Is the new alternator the reason he gave you for taking it off? If so, that doesn't make sense. This guy sounds a little shady to me. No telling what else might be wrong, or about to be wrong.
I dont knwo if this is correct but my other camaro and the one my uncle has drain the battery like that if you dont start the avery threee days. The dome lights seem to short out real easy.
maybe a shorted out wire or bad ground. batter cables short out and drain the battery, but they're cheap and relatively easy to replace
he could be just like me and my friends. if we have a car sititng we dissconnect the battery so if we work on it or have all the doors open and stuff it doesnt drain the battery or shock us..he could have not expected to start it again
