Default Battery Dead?

Well, My car was running fine yesterday, i ran it for about 20 mins or so.. and then earlier today i tryed starting it up and it would turn all the way. My first guess is the battery is dead because the lights were flickering on the dash? the reason im askin what it may be is because i ran it fine yesterday, and i didnt leave anything on. If this helps... i live in florida and that battery is 5 years old. idk weather etc..

You think its the battery?

Did it begin to click? What does the voltage read on the voltmeter when you just turn the key (not starting the vehicle). If it's low, your battery is likely dead or going dead. Does it sound like the car is having trouble turning over and are you getting the clicking noise from the battery not having enough power to turn the starter?

If you got the dreaded clicking, your battery is definitely dead. When you get a new battery in, check the alternator. Also you can take it to Advance/Autozone/O'Reilleys/Napa and they will test the battery for free.

Sounds like the battery to me. My son parked his last night and this morning, clicking noise inside with flashing dash lights. Battery is less than a year old but I guess 18 degrees was kinda hard on it. I put jumper cables on it and it fired right up. Guess the battery is going back to Advance Auto.

before you go out and buy a new battery unhook both battery cables and wire brush the heck outa both battery terminals and the cable ends. while your at it theres a red plastic power junction box on the fenderwell by the battery take the wires lose and brush the ends on them as well.
