WOW the dealership is nuts. They want $16.14 a piece for those flexplate to crankshaft bolts and there's 8 of them! Any suggestions?

part number is 24501365 that should be 16.14 for a pack of 8. GM Parts Direct: 24501365 - BOLT

yeah, the dealer here wanted 16.14 per bolt. Interestingly when I pulled the flexplate off the old motor today I found it was misaligned and missing a bolt, as well as had the words "Hot Rod" scratched into it. along with the missing bellhousing bolt I'd say this motor has been out before... lol. So I am reusing the old flexplate bolts except for the one new one I went and bought today for that insane price.

order a set from online and take one bolt back for your money. at least the parts guy here has always let me know when they have to order the pack so i get them all. i think they just charged you what the book said and nevermind its for a 8 pack, they make an extra 700%

actually, when I went to order online from the link shared here. I clicked add to cart, went and checked my cart and it added 8 of them for a whopping 97 dollars after shipping.

The factory bolts are in fact torque to yield. You do not want to re-use them.

Replacing Torque to yield bolts with normal type bolts is a bad idea. It comes down to how the bolt handles heat. Torque to yield bolt allow designers to use much shorter bolts in high temp application. The question is not if the bolt will come loose it is when. When a fly wheel/flex plate comes loose it can render both the engine and transmission un-repairable.
