Air Shocks to Lift

Hey everyone, I'm running into a bit of a problem, well, it's not even a problem, just an inconvience sometimes.I was wondering if anyone knows if you can use air shocks to help your camaro get a little more clearance every now and then. There is a part of town that I work in, and it's a nightmare, the roads are everything but well maintained, and I drag bottom no matter how I take the dips, or how slow I go. I was thinkin I would get some air shocks that I could use to give me temp clearance. Any ideas?

To be honest, if the roads are well maintaned and you still dip, it may just be a shock problem. Installing an air shock seems a little overkill, IMO, so try a simple jounce test on the car. Bounce the front up and down and see how many times it moves. It should be around two to two and a half. If anything, I'd suggest replacing the front two shocks with stiffer ones.

1st thing you should do is check your ride height. Level ground measure the distance from ground to the rocker panel just after the front wheeland just in front of the rear wheel. Do it for both sides. I THINK the correct height is 6" but if anyone knows for sure, please let us know. Then for giggles, have someone measure again with you in the car.
If your unloaded ride hight is low, could be weak springs, too low a profile tire (may want to try 60 or 70% aspect tires), or carrying too much stuff around. One corner low, something bent.
If the unloaded ride height is ok, but get's a lot less with you in the car you may want to consider a diet.
FYI: And laugh if you want, but a while back I saw a Triumph TR7 set up as an off roader. Yes, it had a swing down step to get into it and it was street legal too.
