Default air box lid question

does the SLP air box lid for LS1 also work for my v6? they have this air induction kit that works for both ls1 and v6 but the slp air box lid does not mention if it'll fit on a v6. can anyone help me out?

Check this out: http://www.camarohomepage.com/project/part3.htm
(you have to scroll down to near the bottom of the page)

They tested three different air lids on a modified 3.8 including the SLP LS1 lid. From what it says the SLP lid works but the air ducts need to be modified and that even then the lid will tend to warp and leak air. I'd like to eventually get the Whisper Motorsports lid but the place where I want to get it from (lmperformance.com) needs to restock their supply or something.

hmm thanks that helps alot. so heres another question.... what would be better that k&n cold air intake or a whisper lid with a k&n air filter? the cold air intake is like 380 its kinda pricy i think.

I doubt that you feel much (if any) of a difference between the two.

The SLP lid will not work unless you do some modifications, better to get the Whisper lid along with the SLP CAI.& high flow filter, you will notice a good boost. FTP CAI is also good; I am not impressed with the K&N CAIs. SLP Blackwing air filters are also better than K&Ns.

Here is the link to whisper motorsports. I have had good luck in the past with them. Whisper offers a lid specific for both the 98 and 99-2002 3800 and is probaly the best out there for the money. I would suggest running a K&N for best results.
