Default 98 3.8 Camaro Problems

Just bought my 98 V6 Metallic Purple Camaro about a year ago and I'm starting to have a few problems. I have the error code p0172 and p0175. And one Other code I cant remember it right now. But when I start the car I have to press gas, and then when it does eventually start up a whole lot of white smoke comes out and it smells straight up like fresh gas. My gas mileage is terrible. Like I can have a tank of gas and a quarter of a tank will be gone if i drive around for about 10 minutes. Help me please!!!!!

If it helps any. I know I have a fuel pressure problem. Fuel pumps at 40 psi while car is running. Drops dramatically when car turns off. I was told its suppose to stay at 40 for a while. Thanks!

P0172 is system too rich bank 1
P0175 is system too rich bank 2

Are you loosing any coolant? (white smoke)
No leaks around the injectors, fuel lines or fuel filter?
Injectors sticking open?

If you are loosing coolant and there are no visible leaks, you might want to have the radiator pressure test and checked for blown head gasket. That could affect your mileage but not that bad unless it is running on 2 cylinders.

Your O2 sensors are garbage. Replace them and your mileage will go right back up and the miss will go away.

I know for a fact its not a blown head gasket. Because smoke only comes out at startup and my car is not over heating at all! Im going to try the oxygen sensors

Will this cause the fuel pressure problem also?

i suppose over time it could..but hopefully you will see a change when you unplug them and then clean them off then put them back in.
