hi every 1 i have a friend with a 97 rs (30th anniversary) its a 5 speed auto with lsd well i was wondering if you canconversion it to the T-56 6 speed manual tranny also does the 6 speed have the lsd or can you put the5 speed lsd in the 6 speed tranny thanks for all the help every 1

 

lsd stands for limited slip differential. It's not it the tranny. And yes, I have heard of people mating a t56 to the 3800, but a wrecking yard will charge upwords of $1200 just for the tranny. I'm not sure how the conversion is done, but I do remember it getting very expensive.

 

There is no five speed autothat came with the Camaro.

i dont know how many times ive posted this buuuut unless you are planing to do things like auto cross with equivlant gearing the automatic trasmission is better for drag racing partiualy if you install a stall converter but do what you want....

 

His friend just thinks he would be cool to have six gears to shift. If he wants a manual, he needs to just swap to the T-5.

 

no he dont think hes cool but if you can swap a 6 speed in why not no need to be rude man.
all i asked was for a little advice me personally im a import guy i just made this name to help my friend with his camaro cuz he wants to mod it

 

Unless he has alot of power (and money) it would be pointless to do. I know of someone on another forum who has done it. Well,a speed shopin Houston did it to his car.I wasn't trying to be rude, but there really is no point to having a six speed for your friend right now. If he wants to shift, tell him to swap to the T-5.
