Default 97 camaro egnine removal maybe?

I have a 97 v6 Camaro with the 5 speed trans and I have to do the typical intake manifold gaskets. ive heard that you have to pull the motor, so my big question is does the motor come out from the top or bottom of the car there isn't much space to go up with it and I don't think I can reach the bell housing bolts. this is my first Camaro and I don't know much about pulling an engine on these ive had chevy trucks never a chevy car.

any help on pulling the motor or if I can just drop the cross member and jack the car up so I can pull the manifold would be perfect

out the bottom, but there's plenty of room to do the gaskets in the car.

How do you get the upper intake off with the engine still bolted in?

just unbolt, slides right out. more info than you need here http://www.dxsoftware.com/magnus/v6headscam.htm

make sure you get the newer metal designed LIM gaskets, don't get the cheap plastic crap.

Might also be a good time to get a factory service manual to help you along.

Intakes or even head gaskets do not require the motors to be pulled. Even the larger V8 are done in the car.

Check the manual section on these forums to get a PDF copy of the GM service manual.
