Default 97 Camaro/98 Camaro front end swap..

Was just curious if anyone else has done the swap for the front ends? I want to change mine out for the newer 4th generation one. I saw a few websites that give detailed instruction but nothing about the lights. How do I change them out/over?

Everything bolts on!! It is great. You need to swap the fenders, hood, bumper cover, bumber reinforcment (plastic honeycomb on the 97 and foam on the 98+) and the headlamps. THe only thing you will not have is the hole for the lower headlamp bracket to the core support. It is not really needed since the lights will be plenty secure with out it. Make sure you get all the brackets and mounting hardware since some of the stuff is a little different.

What about the headlights? How do those work? As in do I just plug in the wires that were used for the old lamps or do I need to cut the tips off thoe old ones and use those.

I am also thinking of going back and getting his radiator reinforcement because mine appears to have some damage from a front end collision. The air bags were deployed on this car, would really love to get his dashboard but not sure how to get those out...yet.

The headlights will plug in just like the old ones did and use the same plugs. The dash from 97-02 is all the same you should be able to swap it out no problem. You will prolly also need the impact sensors, they are a one use sensor and once tripped they are useless.

Default 97/98 Front End Swap..

The impact sensors really dont concern me since I am not going to use the airbags, sure they will be in there but the car has already been wrecked once and not reported to the insurance company. I checked it out and found nothing through my agent.

My other concerns are just getting the damn front blinkers to work. I got the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Module form the donor car. I am going to try it out today and then maybe just take off the front end and see what underneath is damaged.

Not sure what I have going on under the front end. I know I want to change out the Upper Radiator mount and take the air box from his 98 and use it on my 97. Just a few thoughts I guess. I have to wait till I get back from my trip to get the stuff I need. The kid I am getting this from just asked me not to rip him off. I told him I wouldn't but he is really helping me out.
