Default 96 RS Y87 V6 Glitches.. HELP!!!

Alright so i just bought the car and iam completely in love with the thing... until i drove it for the first few days and i drove it for sure i already put 200 miles on and its only been 3 days ...Heres were the problem starts everytime i run the lights and defroster at night it makes this loud whirring sound and then i turn the lights off it goes away and i turn them back on the sound slowly returns... the battery is 3 years old and was used every now and then but we just had it checked and it shows that its only Weak* and the guy said we could use it for the rest of the summer and it would be fine... part 2 of the problem if i run the defrost lights and radio the speedometer bounces around and doesnt come down unless i pull over and put it in park ... it just keeps going up, my first thought was ok new instrument cluster will fix that and then i read some of the other forums and i thought well maybe its a speed sensor... If anyones got any idea what the deal with this is i would appreciate the information GREATLY*!! i love this new v6 its so much fun to drive around but i want to make sure everything works so any help is better than none!

cars do weird stuff when battery's are weak. just go to walmart and get your self a new one and go from there. it may fix all your "voltage" problems.

The noise is from the alternator (bad diode) or the belt complaining about the electrical load. If it is from the alernator it will probably get worse with time, till the alternator dies. If it is from the belt it will also get worse with time. The battery could be weak because of old age or because the alternator is sick. Spedo bouncing is the result of low voltage.
Get the alternator tested & see if it can produce the rated power.

Check Consumer Reports -- based on their research, get an Exide battery (Napa's are made by Exide)...

Awesome soI quickly swapped batterys from another car we had sitting around that wont be driven anymore but the battery is nearly new andI put that in and that took care of the speedometer thing and the dimming.. butI forgot to mention another problem thats been going on sinceI bought the car... of course my luck we didnt realize until we got home but the ABS INOP light, lights up every now in then its not flashing it just lights up so that means i dont have anti-lock brakes... but it doesnt do it all the time sometimes ill go driving around town and it wont light up at all and then once i put it in park it lights up or if i pull over turn off the car and turn it back on it turns back off
Iam just curious could it be a loose sensor that cant tell if its working or not? and sometimes it gets a good connection and other times it doesnt ??? Anyhelp again would be awesome!
I love camaros!! i have 2 now and iam only 17 i hope by 40 i have 1 of each gen !!! only 3 more counting the 5th gen to go!!!!!!!

ABS INOP does mean that the ABS system is inoperable. ABS is a good thing to have, but will not effect your braking ability in any way as long as you dont have to slam on the brakes. And your problem is probably a bad sensor at one of the wheels, or bad connection. I wouldn't worry about that to much. It's when your "BRAKE" light comes on and stays on that you should start worrying.
